Windows XP Service Pack 3 and Ubuntu 8.04
For all you people using Windows XP, here’s a treat: the long awaited Service Pack 3 (click the link to download) for Swedish users. And if anyone of you uses the English version here’s the link for that. Keep in mind that Microsoft has not officially released these yet because they had compatibility issues with people using Dynamics Retail Management System, but I sincerely doubt anyone of you readers actually do that. So download, install, and enjoy the 1100-something bug fixes and the general perfomance increase (up to 10% has been reported).
And now that I’ve given you that, for the sake of my own conscience, I must also recommend Ubuntu 8.04, a Linux-based, free, open source operating system that works great and fully replaces Windows XP as long as you’re not a hard core gamer. And besides, you can always run dual-boot. So you have no excuse not to use it. It can even be installed straight from Windows like any other program.
