I.hate.glossy.screens.

Sometimes life is just really damn good. Like now. I’m sitting in the back yard, it’s 20-something degrees Celcius, I have a parasol to shield me from the glaring sun, my laptop on the table in front of me, music is coming from a speaker placed on the window sill of my room on the second floor, and I have a mug full of ice which I slowly consume as it melts. It took me ten minutes to rig it all up (laptop, mouse and speaker on window sill was no problem, but the external hard drive (on which I have all of my music) requires an external power source, so I had to drag a cable through an open window on the first floor, and the stereo cable was so tangled up behind my desk that it took me five minutes to untangle it before I could lower it through the window on the second floor in order to connect my laptop to the speakers), but it’s SO worth it.

The only thing bothering me is that I have the world’s glossiest computer screen EVAH, so it’s quite the bitch trying to actually see anything on it. I keep having to move my head around in order to get into a good angle for that specific spot on the screen that I wish to see (maximum one fourth of the screen at a time). I honestly don’t understand why they basically don’t make matte screens any longer (at least not for laptops), because this glossy one is really killing me. It’s literally like staring into a fucking mirror.

Oh well, it’s still pretty friggin’ sweet. And the cat clearly agrees, because he’s laying curled up in the hedge (quite literally, in the hedge) and seems to be having a really good nap. Speaking of naps, I wouldn’t mind one myself.

…… A small spider just built a cobweb over my mug of ice …… extra proteins for me I guess.
