The 165 mystery solved, and some more societal enlightenment

The mystery of the 165 views (would that make for a good crime story title or what!) has been solved! It would seem that Christina (often seen in the photo of the day lately) was tremendously bored the other day and pretty much read my whole blog. Good for you!

Societal enlightenment: Some of you may remember that I tried bringing to attention (like a year or so ago) that FRA (Försvarets Radioanstalt – “Swedish National Defence Radio Establishment”) might become allowed to listen in to basically all cable-bound traffic that leaves the borders of Sweden (which pretty much equals all internet trafic whatsoever, due to the way the internet works). This legislative proposal was postponed for a year thanks to something in Swedish called “minoritetsbordläggning” (I don’t think there’s an English equivalent of the word). However, that year has soon passed, the proposal has not changed a bit (i.e it’s just as bad), but pretty much all of the major political parties now support it instead. This proposition is so bad for the Swedish people for so many reasons, that I’m not going to get into it myself (because it’d become rather long, and rather boring), but instead show the way to this very insightful chronicle, that writes about it in a way that anyone can understand (since it’s a slightly technical issue). And if you find that interesting, then this will probably peak your interest as well: a previous director general for FRA has basically said that the FRA already violated Swedish constitutional laws in the 70’s and has been doing so ever since, and that this new law would merely make legal what they have already been doing for 30 years. I’m quite simply appalled.

As for my health, my groin is still sore, but I’m at least feeling generally better. I think the infection (which it most likely is) in my body is being fought off, and hopefully I’ll be up and running (or at least out and walking) within the next few days.
